What we believe. What the Bible says.

We believe that Giving & Tithing are a privilege and an incredible opportunity for blessing, protection, financial growth.

In Malachi 3:10-12, God speaks powerfully about the blessings associated with tithing. He says, “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it. I will prevent pests from devouring your crops, and the vines in your fields will not drop their fruit before it is ripe,” says the Lord Almighty. “Then all the nations will call you blessed, for yours will be a delightful land,” says the Lord Almighty.

This passage is remarkable for several reasons. First, God directly challenges His people to put Him to the test through tithing. Ordinarily, Scripture warns against testing God (Deuteronomy 6:16). However, in Malachi 3:10, God invites His people to test His faithfulness specifically in the area of giving. It’s a bold promise that if we bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, He will respond by opening the “floodgates of heaven.”

The Positive Outcomes of Tithing

  1. Abundant Blessing
Tithing is directly connected to an outpouring of God’s blessings. When God speaks of “throwing open the floodgates of heaven,” He indicates that He will provide not only enough but an overflow—a surplus that exceeds our needs and expectations. This blessing may manifest in various ways: financial provision, peace of mind, strengthened relationships, and spiritual growth. God’s blessings reach beyond material wealth to touch every part of our lives.

  2. Divine Provision and Overflow
The phrase “there will not be room enough to store it” illustrates the scale of God’s blessing. When we tithe, God promises provision that exceeds what we could manage or expect. This abundance is not given to lead us to hoard but to enable us to overflow with generosity, impacting others as we experience God’s faithfulness.

  3. Protection Over Resources
In verse 11, God promises to “prevent pests from devouring your crops” and to protect the fruit of the vine so it ripens at the right time. Tithing is connected not only to blessing but also to divine protection. When we give to God, He guards the work of our hands, protects our resources, and prevents things that could waste or diminish our efforts. Tithing is like placing our finances under God’s watchful care, safeguarding what we’ve worked for against unforeseen losses and setbacks.

  4. Prosperity and Stability for Communities
God promises that as His people tithe, “all the nations will call you blessed, for yours will be a delightful land.” Tithing brings communal blessings. When individuals faithfully give, they contribute to the wellbeing of the community and allow for resources to flow into God’s house, meeting needs and funding ministry work. This leads to a positive ripple effect on the community, making it “a delightful land,” a place marked by God’s favor and prosperity.

  5. A Deeper Relationship with God
Tithing is an act of trust and reliance on God, which deepens our relationship with Him. When we give, we declare our belief in God’s promises, strengthening our faith and teaching us to rely on Him instead of our own understanding. The act of faithfully tithing cultivates gratitude, humility, and trust in God’s provision. This spiritual growth is perhaps one of the greatest blessings, leading us to a closer walk with God.

Conclusion

In Malachi 3:10-12, God reveals that tithing is not merely a duty but an invitation to experience His provision, protection, and abundant blessings. Through tithing, we place our trust in God, positioning ourselves to receive from His limitless resources. When we obey God in this area, we invite His hand over our finances and lives, transforming them into avenues for His kingdom purposes and allowing us to share in His goodness with others.

This is why we believe Tithing is such an amazing opportunity.
